Frequently listed amongst the most performed living composers globally, Caroline Shaw has created a sound world that is unique, but so resonant that you imagine that it has always existed.
She is the recipient of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Music, four Grammy awards, and has written and produced for iconic artists and ensembles across the musical spectrum including Renée Fleming, Yo-Yo Ma, Nas, Kanye West, and the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonics, among others.
For their first-ever tour to New Zealand, leading Nordic ensemble Kamus Quartet will present a programme of Caroline Shaw’s work for string quartet, some of which feature Shaw as vocal soloist, alongside pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and Alessandro Scarlatti.
